I have a bluetooth adapter for my laptop, but was wondering if you could buy anything that you can plug a 3.5mm jack into from a set of speakers that would enable them to be used wirelessly as I’m moving my laptop around the room and still want decent sound without having wires all over the place..

If not then is there anything else I could use? I’ve seen a few sets of perpose made wireless speakers, but is there some way I could just adapt my existing speakers?

I have a bunch of different pieces of equipment, but I have a big house and I want to put something together that makes sense and has multi-room functionality. As it is right now, I can’t listen to the same thing in more than one room, and I don’t feel like I have a central location in which to play music from. I wish to improve this with something smart and (hopefully) simple. I’d like to work with my equipment if possible, but I’m open to other ideas if I’m better off without it.

Here’s what all I have to work with: One Onkyo HIB (5 small speakers, passive sub, tuner), One Yamaha Tuner, one cheap set of outdoor speakers, one pc with a decent external speaker set, one macbook laptop, a wireless network, and 2 ipods.

I am looking to get a new computer, but not necessarily the newest model, just whatever is in stores and I want some advice. Here is what I am looking for. I don’t care what brand, but not a desktop.
Must require DDR2 ram.
Pre-installed should be at least a 1 gig.
Must have at least a CD-rom/burner.
Battery type should be cheap to replace. I prefer something with at last 2 hours of life.
Should not overheat too much or too quickly.
Decent sound and graphics card.
Internal wireless adapter.
Good speakers.
Decent price so that I wont feel bad about purchasing the newest office suite (if you include an approximate of this information, I would be appreciative).
What (brand, especially) would you recommend and why?

The reason I ask is that it is 9:42 I have a final due tomorrow that I have not yet typed out (not that it will take more than 30 minutes) but my stupid Toshiba Satellite’s not receiving power which could be a problem with a slipped mother board, the power jack, the jack on the motherboard, or hopefully something that is cheaper than buying a new laptop. Only the crooks at GeekSquad will tell.
As a follow-up (another asker’s question inspired me). I also have no opinion between mac and pc? So I am not attached to either since I own both in desktop forms.

I want a rock solid system, not just a laptop.

I’ll have the CPU(desktop tower) in the trunk, have it wired through the frame up to the front so I can have my monitor(possibly touch screen), mouse/keyboard(maybe, if so it’ll be wireless).

The biggest issue is that I don’t want to trip the onstar system by them thinking it’s being stolen because I want to get my computer wired through my sound system. It’s all factory default, 12 speaker system. Pontiac 2002 Grand Prix GTP

Is there a module or something I can use to connect the desktop to the sound system?

Anybody ever done anything like this? Install a computer into the car and wire it through the radio so my CD’s/DVD’s can be heard through the speakers. I’m hoping to do this WITHOUT using a FM/AM transmitter, so it’ll be a rock solid system.

Kind of like a GPS on steroids? Is there anything like that? Like, instead of JUST a GPS system, let it have DVD movie capability, CD music capability, and the ability to run programs. Overall, I want a nice Windows operating system in my car.

What are my options?

Also, I’m going to have a transformer plugged to the battery then to my computer. It’s going to feed the power to it at a normal rate and at my desired voltage, so my car battery won’t destroy the computer with too much power.

But I was wondering, is there a limit to how far the wireless speakers can be from the actuall interface? Is it also possible that the wireless speakers may interfere with my wireless internet connection (that is with my laptop)?

i’m getting a wireless network set up to connect my computers, is there a wireless device i can connect to my stereo so that my music will come out through stereo speakers?

any suggestions for a wired connection are also welcome. Is there a cable that goes into my headphone jack on my laptop that will connect into the back of my stereo?

I just got wireless internet for my new laptop and every time i get on my laptop the sounds of random ads keep coming from my speakers and i don’t even have anything up on my screen.. why does ad audio keep coming out when there are no ads? is it from the new wireless? or is it a virus?

my hard drive crashed on my laptop and had to buy a new one and when i reinstalled my windows xp it tells me no speakers are installed and also that i have to internal wirelelss
