I have a Compaq SR2010NX, 1.8GHz rated at 2.4; 1.18GB RAM, 104 GB Harddrive.

Would come with:
Wireless card
Speakers
Upgraded to 430W Power supply
and a NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT Graphics card

I want to have my dvd player, cd/radio player, and television in the same area of the living room. But, I want a spaker system that I can hook up to all of them, even if I have to do it through a hub of some kind (a modulator maybe?). Also, I would like to be able to add speakers as time goes on, like maybe put speakers on the patio, so I can listen to music from my cd player or radio, without being in the living room. I don’t want a wireless set up. A bonus would be that i could hook my PC to the speaker system as well, but that is not really necessary.

Questions: What kind of hub would I need for this? What kind of connectors would it need? What kind of speakers (brands/models) would you recommend? (They don’t have to make the windows rattle, but they should be loud enough for a lovely home theater experience.)

Also, I am concerned about price. I am not that particular about quality. My furniture is mostly stuff I picked up off the side of the road, this is how low rent I am. But I will be coming into a bit of money in the near future, with which I will be building and furnishing a new home. Still, budget will be a concern. A nice sound system is something I want for my elderly mother who lives with me. I want to pamper her in these years, as she has had a hard life.

ordered a cable so that my ps3 can go to my monitor using it’s HDMI port and the Monitors VGA….

as typical when you think everything is going okay bang! something stops you in this case my speakers with RED/WHITE plugs on for audio (t.v coloured type thingys )

anyway plan was plug it into moniter and other plugs into speaker guess thats not happening now…..

how can i make this work with my 4.1 on my computer?:)

things i have:

Cable(soon to be arriving)

ps3 (ofc)

monitor (vga/dvi/audio with a strange plug that i’m not sure what it is apart from audio)

a black box for wireless headphones with a RED/WHITE plug and a small audio which fits in every port on my computer to do with audio

erm.. yes thats about all

current auido is 1xbass speaker with 2x small speakers plugged into it
2xsmall speakers plugged into computer

my audio is standard uk colours 5 out 1 mic
1 mic/1 headphone on front.

I just bought a netgear wireless n router and wanted to know if it will be effected if its near a montior or speakers or metal? I mean effect the strength or anything like that?
