Tutorial – How to set up Stereo Speakers on your Computer
–WARNING– There is an EAR RAPE near the end of the video. Turn your speakers down near the end of the vid! –END WARNING– Tired of the speakers that came with your computer? What if I said you could use a set of massive stereo speakers in place of those crappy speakers! This tutorial shows you how to use your stereo speakers with your computer. Needed: Stereo with Speakers installed and cassette tape deck Cassette Tape adapter (with 1/8 headphone plug in) Computer with a headphone jack Procedure: 1. Insert the Tape adapter into the tape deck 2. Plug the adapter into the computer’s headphone jack 3. Make sure your stereo is on, and in “TAPE” mode, and hit play. 4. If needed, configure the volume levels on your computer and your stereo to fit your liking. Now, you can get a better sound experience from your computer. This is also great for home recording studios –Installing the Speakers to your stereo– 0. Look at the ends of the two wires protruding from each of the speakers. One end should be red, the other black. Now, look at the back of your stereo. You should find two sets (for each speaker) of two ports, one red, and one black (Each port has both colors), most likely with switches to hold the wires down. 1. Carefully lift up the switches. 2. Insert the correct color wire into the coresponding port. Do the same for the other speaker. 3. Carefully press down the switches. Your speakers should be working properly now. Tutorial: How to hook up an Xbox 360 to a Computer Monitor
—READ FIRST— A pretty good tutorial on how to hook up your 360 to a computer monitor. Q&A Q: I saw your last vid and you used an HDTV. Why do you use the computer monitor instead of your fancy pants HDTV? A: In some games I play, like Rock Band, I encounter a little visual lag when I play on an HDTV. On a computer monitor, I have no visual lag at all. So its perfect to play any game. Q: Why do you have towels underneath your 360 still? A: i got this idea from a friend and he has had towels underneath his 360 for well over a year and a couple of months now and STILL no RROD. Q: What are the things I need for this to work? A: Computer Monitor and Xbox 360 (obviously…) Xbox 360 VGA HD Cable (can be found at most electronic retailers, ie, Best Buy), Speakers for audio, Female-to-Female Audio Splitter (about the size you would put regular headphones in) its that little black thing i used in the video to connect my speakers NOTE: if your speakers have the female input on them, then there’s no need to buy the last item mentioned
How to make a Car Power Amp work on AC power using a PC power supply
I saw a thread where people were asking how they could make their Car Amp work in their home, I found where someone had managed to make one work with a PSU from a computer. People wanted a tutorial on how to do it, so I played with the idea and came up with this. I am NOT responsible if you BLOW something, or if you start a fire, but This is a fairly safe project. Use a standard computer PSU, no internal modification required, remember if you open a PSU, there are parts in there that WILL shock you, even un-plugged. I cut one of the molex connectors off of the PSU, but there are ways to do this without damaging the psu. On higher power PSUs there are more than one rail inside the psu for power, each providing only part of the rated wattage, so, I made sure I hooked both strands of molex connectors to the amp. Im only average in Electronics, so if some guru out there wants to correct me, by all means PM me, and Ill make sure I put a warning here in the description
Just common sense tells me DO NOT HOOK UP MORE WATTAGE TO THE AMP THAN YOUR PSU CAN PROVIDE! and remember that the amp itself wastes some power for the LEDs and about 30 percent in heat, so, dont connect 650w of speakers with a 650w psu. I would stay below 450w on the speakers. I dont know much about how these car amps work, so make sure you know what speaker impedance is, and how to figure it, and make sure you dont under power the speakers Hope the video helps! feel free to email me with questions/requests …
