What is the best way to hide all my av wires behind my tv?

I currently have a 61 inch DLP on a tv stand with two glass shelves below, consisting of a comcast digital box, center speaker, stereo receiver with 5.1 surround sound speakers, modem and wireless router, xbox 360, and a dvd player. As you can imagine, behind my television looks like a giant rat’s nest. I have many ac plugs, speaker wires, a/v cables, computer cables, etc. The xbox 360 ac plug alone looks like a huge brick.
The tv stand itself has one center frame where you can hide a few plugs, but not enough room to cover even half the stuff mentioned.

Now to the point. Do they sell some sort of 6 inch depth X 6 inch height X 5 foot length cover with holes to hide all this mess in black somewhere? Can this be man-made and still look nice? If it is man-made, is wood okay to use to cover all these electrical wires? Is there any other options? Thanks.
FYI Update: Sorry I left this part out. I am renting an apartment and have wood floors. Nothing permanent can be changed to the house structure.

I don’t have quite that much in my system but I do have a basement, so I opened up a 2inch by 4 inch hole in the floor and used some scrap pine boards and enclosed all the wires inside it against the wall down to the basement. I the routed all the wires to wherever they needed to go from there. Neat, and blended it in with the rest of the woodwork by staining it. Noting that you are in an apartment, not to be ‘destructive’ your best bet would probably be wire looms, or wraps. not the neatest but certainly better than all the loose wire dangling all over. A good thing to keep in mind though, be sure to keep the power wires separate from component and speaker wires. Putting them both in one loom may cause interference or static. Route the power wires together in separate looms.

wow a lot of plugs so what you want to do is maybe get a glass stand on the back of your television to hold up your wires and then it will make the appearance of the TV better looking.

If you are any good at building things or small projects, get some 6" wide pine boards( usually 8 ft. lengths), cut all the pieces you need to make your box, but before you put it together, drill big enough holes in the piece that will be the top, and enough holes, then finish the pieces with varathane or stain & clear varathane to match the finish of your room. After it’s nice & dry, stick the wires that need to come up through those holes up far enough to reach everything. Then put it together, and because it has no bottom in it, just sit down over the wires as they come from the surge protector. With that against the wall behind your 5 ft. long stand, it should look really nice. That’s what I would do, but I have to get someone to make it, or it would look awful. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project !! The holes should be big enough for the power cords & plugs.

they do sell wire managment systems. they are usuallay plastic. if you decide to go with building your own make sure you leave enough ventalation, as those power blocks can generate alot of heat..
